Introduction to modern punch needle
Come and learn this popular and fun craft with us!
In our fall workshop Heli Savila – a punch needle artist – is going to teach us all the basics about punch needle.
In this course you are going to make a wall hanging using an embroidery hoop. You can choose whether you would like to use an adjustable punch needle or the Oxford needle. Your needle of choice is yours to keep. All the materials are included and no previous experience is required.
We'll be using:
Embroidery hoop prepared with a special fabric for punch needle (d=22 cm)
A selection of different yarns (wool & cotton). If you have some special yarns that you would like to use in your project, you are welcome to bring them with you – Heli will help you find a way to use them.
A punch needle:
adjustable plastic needle with a threader OR
the Oxford punch needle #10 regular with an instruction booklet by Amy Oxford and box for storage
Heli will give you insight about the materials and tools, where to get them and what are the possibilities. You will also hear her tips about composition, choosing colours and how to create your own unique projects.
Date and time: Wednesday 16 October from 17:00 to 20:00
Course fee: €75 with the adjustable needle / €105 with the Oxford needle set
